The Association of European Manufacturers of Autogenous Vaccines and Sera, EMAV, has published a comprehensive Manual of Autogenous Vaccines. This unique publication was prepared by well recognised scientists from veterinary universities in Europe, experienced veterinary experts and specialists from the circle of EMAV member companies.
At an EMAV General Assembly and Workshop EMAV members made use of the opportunity to discuss aspects of the implementation of the new EU Animal Health law in a guidance especially dedicated for the manufacturing and use of autogenous vaccines with acknowledged experts from European authorities.
With Exopol from Spain and INVAC from Germany Klaus-Peter Behr, Chairman, could welcome two new members at the 8th ordinary General Assembly on 19th of April.
At an EMAV workshop in Vienna end of April experts from the EMAV members and highly esteemed scientists shared information about conditions and appropriate methods in the control of animal diseases and zoonoses. The evaluation of the situation in Europe demonstrates the significant as fast growing importance of veterinary vaccines and highlights the indispensable role of esp. Autogenous vaccines (AV) as an valuable tool in the hands of veterinary practitioners. This analysis is supporting the optimal use of AV in terms of animal health management, the reduction in use of antibiotics and the prevention of animal diseases and zoonoses.
